For immediate release: February 19, 2016
We are pleased to announce today that Heritage Health Food, Inc. has acquired both the Cedar Lake Food Company and the frozen Worthington® products. Cedar Lake Foods transaction will be completed by April 30, 2016 and the Worthington® transaction was completed today February 19, 2016. We have in place a manufacturing agreement with Cedar Lake Foods to make all these fine products in their plant until we officially take over the Cedar Lake plant in April.
Heritage Health Food, Inc. is proud to continue manufacturing, selling, & distributing these historic brands and will do everything in it’s power to make this transition as seamless as possible. As you might imagine, this is a monumental undertaking and to that end, our team has been working very hard behind the scenes laying the groundwork for rapidly merging these exceptional brands under one company.
It is our goal to truly continue the heritage and shape the future of the health food industry. We ask for your prayers and support as we work together through this transition period and look to fulfill this important mission.
Sincerely,
Donald E. Otis
President
Great! Bring back frozen Tuno, please!!!
So glad to see God using you and Blessing you!
Will you continue to give the 5 cents/Worthington label for Sabbath School Investment for missions??
What wonderful news Don! This has to be so exciting for you and Kim! Monumental perhaps but you and Kim are a great team! So happy for you!!! Prayers and rich blessings dear friend.
Congratulations for bringing some of our meat-free products back under the SDA banner. Hopefully you will be able to recover some of the other labels, too.
Congratulations and best wishes!
Congratulations on your historic purchase. God bless your endeavors toward healthy eating!
So very pleased for you and the team. God bless and guide this endeavor.
Woo-Hoo! So HaPpY for you and Heritage Foods! ?❤️?❤️?
Yeah!!!!! Will you be continuing the institutional sizes of the analong meat slices – such as wham?
I was one of owners of Cedar Lake in the 80’s. Purchased from Vep Sias family who sold it for health reasons. Glad it’s still around.
This is wonderful news…. Finally Worthington is owned again by someone who has a passion for the mission of healthy foods transition. PTL!
Will the Cedar Lake products continue to be GMO free?
So as a consumer of Worthington products we will. Continue with all products frozen and canned
Wow! Will the recipe be changed in both instances?
Congratulations Don and Kim, awesome! Kyle works in the ABC warehouse in Leominster, MA
Hi Don and Kim, good fortune on this venture.
This explains why I was unable to buy Worthington frozen foods. I hope they are back on the market soon.
Bring back protean
Will this be a CHRIST centered endeavor? Who are the new owners and why are we selling all of the Adventist companies that God put in place. Who is behind this? Who exactly will I be supporting when purchasing product and will the recipes be changed? Still kosher, vegan and/or veggie? Health message is key in the S.D.A. Church. Please respond.
I certainly hope these brands will not continue being GMO or have anything to do with Monsanto!
Please e-mail to me information on Kim’s foods. And where is it available for retail. Will you have delivery down into the
New Orleans, Louisiana area? It is greatly needed.
Thank you for letting my wife and I to be part of this project guided by the Holy Spirit.
Wow Cedar lake provided lots of egg free products. I hope that will not change. Now we need to work on making no msg products and organic as well.
Do you have a timeline as to when the Worthington products will be available again? We could really use Dinner Roasts for Easter.
I just found your announcement on facebook about buying the frozen Worthington/Cedar Lake products from Kellogg’s. Congratulations. This might explain why I am having problems getting Wham Rolls from the Seventh Day Academy Store in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where I have been buying these products for over 40 years. It has been unavailable for about a month (although other frozen products are available). I eat this product every single day! Nobody at the store seems to know why they are ordering it but not getting it. Can you tell me when the product might again be available? Thanks very much.
Please do not change the quality and the great taste of our meat analogs. Keep them healthy also please. Thank you and God bless your endeavors.
We have enjoyed several Worthington frozen products for years. We have tried to track down two of our favorites lately — Wham and Stakletts. Kellogg’s was kind enough to direct us to your website. Do you plan to keep theses products?

Wham is currently in production, and we are still working towards producing Stakelets!
When will it be available for shipment?
This sounds like great news! I hope this will mean a more determined focus on marketing/distributing these brands.
I live in Alaska where we don’t have any distributors for Worthington and Cedar Lake products. Do you have any plans to expand distribution to our state? Thanks.
Where can I buy the big 4lb 8oz frozer Wham rolls? I live in Chapin SC..
Bring back Worthington Tuno, please!!!!
When will we see Worthington Frozen foods available again?
Where can I find “Leanies”? They are the only vegetarian hot dog that I like.
Where can I buy Worthington Chickette in the Metro-Detroit area or within an hour or so from there? I need it asap as I am making chickette salad wraps for my son’s graduation party this weekend. Please help!
Thank you,

Will all your products be GMO free?
Thank you
Yes! we are striving for all of our products to be non-GMO!
Are the Worthington frozen meatless smoked turkey rolls available? I have my local health food store trying to find how to order them.
In the past Cedar Lake was paying to our General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists 5 cents a UPC collected by buyers and turned into local SDA churches andalso, Worthington products. Is there any possiblity that this age old practice will continue?
Thanks for considering this, Anita Anderson who counts the UPCs from our local Fortuna SDA Church.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us know when we can expect to see Wham & Leanies available again! So glad that you have acquired them back but we are in serious withdrawal.
Wham is currently in production, and we are still waiting to acquire the machines to produce the Leanies!
I was buying Worthington’s Leanies at a Publix Store here in Lakeland, FL. All of a sudden they were gone…I inquired at the Publix store and they said something was happening with the distributor. I did research and finding out today that Heritage has taken over Cedar Lake (which I also love and have to drive a great distance to purchase) and Worthington’s Leanies. Is there any place in Lakeland Florida where I can purchase these products?
Several of out health food stores that we used to get wham no longer have a distributor…can you direct us. We have used the health food store in Ft Wayne, IN and also the one in Defiance, OH. My sister and I are both vegetarians and would love to be able to purchase the rolls that we’ve ordered before. Thank you for your time.
Will Heritage be bringing back Protoast ????
I have been looking for Worthington Foods frozen Vegetarian Pies. They were made in Chicken-Like and Beef-Like flavors. These are absolutely wonderful-tasting pies. So good that we would often incorporate into our family Thanksgivings. None of the others (Amy’s, etc.) come anywhere near to these in taste. Please, please bring these back organic and non-GMO. Thank You!
Please let me know when Leanies, Wham and Fri-pats will be in the stores. Is it possible to order directly from you?
Looking for the frozen tuno rolls and the prosage rolls. I can not find them anywhere, can I buy direct from your company? and YES! we are so happy that you are willing to keep producing the yummy products we’ve known so well, thank you. The newer companies cannot compete when it comes to flavor and texture. We will be praying for your company:)
When can we expect to see the turkey and chicken rolls available at the Village Market in Collegedale, TN?? The holidays are coming before you know it and we serve “turkey” and dressing every year.
Please tell me if you will reintroduce Worthington’s delicious Tuno. It was a tune of frozen “tuna” and it was amazing! Thanks for any reply, but please say yes!
I miss so very much bolono and salami we used to buy them not individually but by the Box I hope that you will bring them back
Do you have an estimate on the timing of restarting the Leanies?
Also, will you be producing the Dinner Roasts?
Is there a timeline to start reproducing leanies
When do you expect to have Prosage available?
Do you have an update on when you will start production on Leanies?
Please- please start making leanies again! My family and I love them….we are so missing them!
We buy at least 2 four lb. Worthington smoked turkey rolls each Thanksgiving. Please tell me we’ll be able to buy them this year.
Thank you!
When will you begin to sell the frozen chickette rolls?
Any news on the leanies? I manage a small health food and vitamin shop in VA and I have several customers requesting any info on the leanies. Thank you
Where can I buy stakelets, and when will the be avialable again? I asked my current source and they said there wasnt any until November 2016.
Frozen steaks and wham please
Any updates as to when Stakelets and Leanies will be available again? I saw the responses to the previous posts. Any timeframe?
I see a post dated 8/2016 that says you will have Stakelets available…um..like how much longer do you think it’s going to take? Or have you decided to not produce these anymore. I’ve literally been waiting for over a year for these! My fav! ?
Oh and while you’re at it…(ha) I loved the product called 209 which was then changed to turkee slices in gravy. What ever happened to that. Everyone I know misses that!! Are you bringing those back too? Puh-lease!!!?
Hi! Where can I buy Wham?
